Early this morning around 3am I checked my FaceBook fan page and saw a ton of notifications. Turns out, Amanda Victoria Powers bombarded my 365 album with “likes”. The support from all you awesome people on this project is completely overwhelming, but greatly appreciated. I love, and thank you all for the support like you wouldn’t believe.

Day 142 of 365 – Beach
Last night I realized that I have not been to a beach all summer long. I shrugged it off and thought to myelf, whatever there is always next year. After work today I met up with a friend who randomly suggested going to Horse Neck Beach to hang out for a little while. Crazy how shit like that happens huh? I snapped a few photos of the rocks, the water, and the beach, but when I turned around the sunset was much more interesting.
Day 141 of 365 – Compass
Day 140 of 365 – Azorian Heritage
My parents are both from The Azores, so I was brought up with a strong Azorian / Portuguese influence. When I was younger, the children where given these little whistle pipes that you would put water in and blow on to make a type of bird type noise. We have tons of these little clay objects all over the house, and I often take them and the culture for granted. I saw these sitting on a shelf in the basement and decided to make them a part of this project.
139 of 365 – Eye-Level with the clouds
I went hiking with some friends on Sunday to Mt Monadnock in New Hampshire and tried to do something new with my landscape photos. When we got to the top of the mountain, I decided to try making a square panorama made from 18 separate images. This full image is huge, I can’t wait to see it printed really big and put up on my wall, this smaller version lacks the detail of the original, but due to file size I will only post this one here. There is something amazing about being up so high on a mountain and being eye level with the clouds.
Day 138 of 365 – Trees
So Saturday was another super busy day for me, but I took the 10 minutes around and get a photo for my 365. On my way home I pulled over near a park in Fall River, hopped out of my car, and just started snapping. This was my fav photo of the day, I love the bokeh made from the leaves in the background.
Day 137 of 365 – Charlie
Well, it was only a matter of time until I had a photo of a pet in this project. I was trying to avoid it but I was super busy on Friday and did not have a chance to focus much on my 365. Charlie likes to sit on the table and roll around in our mail, while tossing it all over the place. He is a really weird cat, but he’s a good guy.
Day 136 of 365 – Anesthesia
I do product photography for a Medical Equipment Distributor when I have free time from doing Google Maps photo shoots, so I get to see some crazy devices. This is a piece of a anesthesia machine that I thought looked pretty neat. That little red ball was spinning in the tube and it immediately caught my attention.
Day 135 of 365 – Smashed
After being a proud iPhone owner for almost 4 years without smashing my screen, I finally smashed the heck out of it. Thankfully a replacement is only $25 and the phone is surprisingly fully functional even with the smashed up screen. The bokeh created by the flash and the cracked screen actually turned out to be pretty awesome on this.
I am considering fixing it, then selling it in favor of an Android phone, Although I doubt I would get almost 3 years out of one Android phone without smashing it worst than this iPhone. This thing has been a tank, it’s taken quite a huge beaten and still runs fantastic. It’s also responsible for getting me across the country and back on my 11,000+ mile road trip.
If I had a Android phone that ran anything like my Nexus 7, I would be a happy camper, plus Apples latest move to ditch Google Maps from iOS6 is enough to make me want to ditch Apple completely.
First world problems.
Day 134 of 365 – Architectural Photos
Currently most of my photography work is for Google Maps which involves still photos as well as 360 degree virtual tours. Today I shot Nissan Village of North Attleboro and really liked this shot from the set. There is something about the lines and the symmetry that really caught my eye. Anyone who has done any type of Architectural work knows that making all the walls and lines straight in post is a very important part of the job, I believe this shot shows that pretty well.
Day 133 of 365 – Mom’s Trade
Day 132 of 365 – Side of the road
I was on my way to Cafe Zog in Providence on Sunday to do some photo editing when I once again, got stuck waiting in traffic on the Braga Bridge. I am kinda of obsessed with taking random photos up there any time I am stuck waiting. I though all this random grungy stuff on the side of the high way interesting. We often drive through these streets so fast that we don’t notice little details right on the side of the road.
Day 131 of 365 – Photos with me
When I am out shooting at night clubs, I often get asked to take a photo with people. I really do not like flipping the camera around and taking MySpace-esqe shots with people so I switched to taking photos with people in a mirror. That got played out quickly, now the only way to get a photo with me is via reflections!
Day 130 of 365 – Cock
When I am having a tough time figuring out what to take a photo of for my 365 project, I ask my FaceBook friends for their suggestions. 100% of the time, there is always someone telling me to take a picture of a “cock”. Why the heck would I want to put a picture of a cock in my 365 project? Here is the cock, now please stop suggesting it!
Day 129 of 365 – Transportation
After my car got totaled a little over a year ago, I never got a new one. I was living and working in Providence and did not need one. Now that I am traveling all over the place for work, I needed to get my own car. I wanted something affordable, great on gas, cheap insurance, and had a tape player. The Escort Zx2 met all the requirements so I picked it up today. Along with a new bill comes the extra freedom I missed while being car-less. More photo adventures are definitely happening soon!
Day 128 of 365 – Butterfly Bokeh
Day 127 of 365 – Geared Head
I recently purchased a new tripod to use with the Google Street View work but the head that came with it was a bit weak. It couldn’t support my camera gear very good so I was recommend a new tripod with a geared head to make leveling the panoramas a bit easier. This bad boy definitely brought the quality of my panoramas up a notch while speeding up my shoot time.
Day 126 of 365 – Aging
Monday was my 29th birthday so I figured my 365 should reflect the occasion. I looked in the mirror and noticed quite a few white hairs in my beard and decided to take pictures of them before I figured out what to do with them. I am aging, but I feel incredibly young and more ambitious than I was when I was 21. Here’s to another 29 years!
Day 125 of 365 – Stuck on the bridge
Baker and myself where on our way to Sunday Funday’s at Dan’s house when we got caught up in traffic on the Braga Bridge in Fall River, MA. I took the opportunity to take some photos while we where standing still. I got a bunch of shots but I really liked the colors and composition of this one. Turns out the back up on the bridge was because of 3 accidents within a 1/4 mile of each other.
Day 124 of 365 – Models
Saturday was my first time organizing and shooting a fashion shoot. The shoot was for a up and coming T-Shirt company so the focus was on the shirts. The 4 models I hired where great to work with and very patient with dodging the rain and helping me hold lighting gear in place so it would not fly away in the crazy wind.
Overall, I am pretty happy with the results, and can’t wait to do this again with some new posing techniques, a second off camera flash, and a cooler location.
